Dear Members,
The Board and Officers of
NIAHAC will be discussing the Futurity moving back with the A Show, as
it was for many years in the past and subsequently the cancellation of
the Roscoe B Show. This is a decision that will generate controversy
and mixed opinions and will not please all. But I believe that if
everyone approaches this with an open mind it will become very apparent
that this is a sound financial decision. It also will address the issue
of the lack of volunteers that are so critical to efficiently manage two
shows of this magnitude.
A tremendous work effort
goes into the management of these back to back shows and each year it
has become harder and harder to justify the continuance of both shows.
After reviewing detailed analysis of the fees for both facilities it is
Springfield that emerges as being more cost efficient and has the
potential and capabilities for growth in the future.
For a moment let’s focus
on the issues the club faces in regard to adequate staffing for the A
Show and the B Show. It is a handful of people that run all the
activities for the club. This same group of people year after year are
asked to work two week ends in a row and unselfishly they have done
so. It is now time for one of two things to happen, we combine the
two shows or new volunteers step forward to run the B Show in Roscoe.
We look forward to seeing
you at the upcoming meeting. If you are not able to attend and would
like to send comments please do so to Sharlynn Jacobs, President
dovebarbay@comcast.net or Charlotte Kletecka, Vice President
chared2@charter.net
Respectfully,

President
